Ekiti chief castigate Fayose for his claim on Buhari's health

A chieftain of the Ekiti Council of Elders, Bayo Orire, has criticized Governor Ayo Fayose’s claim about health of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Fayose, the APC candidate is suffering from health challenges which might encumber him to perform as President if elected. The governor made this statement during the presidential campaign rally of President Goodluck Jonathan in Ado-Ekiti, The Nation reports.

Orire, who is a medical doctor, condemned Fayose for making “unguarded clinical assumption” against Buhari’s health. The chieftain also advised the governor to face the task of governance instead. Continue..
The former Chairman of Ekiti State Hospitals Management Board who spoke with reporters on January 18, 2015, berated the governor for his unrelenting attacks on the person of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He argued that “a well-cultured Yoruba man does not abuse elders recklessly” stating that only a politician who was lacking ideas would leave issues and be attacking personalities.

Orire, who is the Publicity Secretary of the APC Elders’ Forum in the state, also stated that Nigerians were already tired of the PDP rule for 16 years. For that reason, he was determined to use the opportunity of the coming general elections to effect a change. The APC presidential candidate spoke yesterday during the press conference in Abuja accusing the PDP of intention to deviate from the core campaign by posing allegations about his health.

The press conference became necessary for Buhari to comment on the controversy regarding his alleged ill health and lack of the educational qualification for the coming elections.
