Bayelsa State students on scholarship in the UK cry for help

Some students from Bayelsa State studying in the United Kingdom have cried out for help over their plight in their host university. Some of them who spoke to Channels Television want a quick intervention from their sponsor, the Bayelsa State government, to offset their tuition fees and enable them finish their studies.

Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State government says efforts are being made to ensure outstanding sums owed to students on scholarship in the disapora are paid.

Chairperson of the Bayelsa State Scholarship Board, Rebecca Souwari, explained the state government is aware of the situation but blames economic challenges for the shortage of available funds.
