17-year-old mother accused of stabbing 1-year-old daughter to death in Ohio

A 17-year-old Lachelle Martina Marie Anderson have been arrested by Police in Columbus, Ohio and charged with murder for allegedly stabbing her infant daughter to death. This was after she called 911 to report that her child needed medical attention and was not moving.  

When officers arrived to the South Side residence they found 1-year-old Lalanna Sharpe suffering from several stab wounds, a tweet from the police department stated.

The baby girl was rushed to Nationwide Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

 Sgt. Jeff Strayer told the Columbus Dispatch that at least one other person was in the home when Lalanna was stabbed, but after an investigation the department "felt comfortable enough to charge (Anderson) with murder."

"Any homicide is a tragedy but for a baby to have her life brutally taken is devastating for her family, the community & our officers" the police department tweeted.
