LASU student attempts suicide by jumping into Lagos lagoon

A male undergraduate student of Lagos State University, LASU, identified as Kingsley Gabriel, attempted suicide this morning at about 11:30 a.m by jumping off Falomo Bridge into the lagoon, but was quickly rescued by some officials of the Lagos State Waterways Authority.

Reason why he attempted drowning himself is still unknown as he is still going through interrogation at Falomo Police station where he was taken to after he was rescued.

Confirming this report, General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, Mr. Damilola Emmanuel, lamented that the act was becoming rampant worrisome on Lagos waterways. According to him, the student was quickly rescued from drowning in the water by LASWA rescue officials who responded swiftly to the incident, jumping into the lagoon to prevent him from drowning.
